What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our pricing is ala carte and flat rate, everything included.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We want to learn what they are looking to accomplish. We have done thousands of events in the past decade and have the experience to troubleshoot and create a plan to use the marching band that puts our clients at ease.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our musicians are the best in New York City, not only are they graduates of Juilliard, the Manhattan School of Music and more, but we use full time union musicians who are employees of our organization. With over a decade of experience we have done every kind of event you can imagine and beyond.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

After we left the Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music we would get so many requests to wear marching band uniforms. We saw there was a clear need and people loved it so we invested in it! It was a natural evolution and way for us to fund what we love to do, performing for veterans.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We work with pretty much everyone. Everyone from Goldman Sachs to Bar Mitzvahs, parades, surprises, summer camps, the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and more! Our non-profit passion is the veterans in long term care and the support form these events helps make that possible.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We had a last minute request for an employee retiring from a company the next day, they said his dream was to have a marching band "play him off". They could not believe we could make the whole thing happen, including his favorite songs in less than 24 hours. Stuff like this is a point of pride for us.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

We are one of the few truly professional marching bands in the United States. We hire our musicians as employees, not contractors so they are fully insured and do this full time for a living. When you hire musicians who are contractors, they may not have liability or workers comp and that can put you on the hook if they get hurt at your event. Because we use full time professional musicians, you can hire us with as little as 24 hours notice. Other groups likes schools or military groups have a lot of red tape and restrictions, we have none of those. When you hire our professional band, you control every aspect of our time and performance.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Make sure you ask if the group has insurance, what is your liability if someone gets hurt. Does the group use employees or contractors? Do the musicians perform full time, or part time? What kinds of uniforms do they have? Does anyone else, or another institution have to approve their performance? One time we had a client who called us the same day because they were desperate after someone hiring up in a major institution the marching band was part of, vetoed their performance without warning. A final story, we had a long time contractor call us an hour before a performance because the high school band was locked out of the school because someone didn’t tell the janitor to open the building for them.
